WI Results and Weekend plans

I couldn't even believe it when I jumped on the scale this morning....I woke up absolutely dreading the idea of getting on the scale this morning but I knew I had to face the music. I have had less than a steller week and I need to own up to it. Actually my week wasn't TOO bad (with the exception of my Halloween treats) but last weekend was pretty rough. I probably used at least 70 bonus points or MORE. Damn Pizza Shack. Damn Halloween party. Who brought those homemade peanut butter balls anyway??

Anyway so I got up and jumped on the scale this morning and closed my eyes. I got hubby to look at the number for me because I couldn't bring myself to do it. Then he said it. I was down 0.5 from last week. I made him check and recheck just to make sure it wasn't some kind of fluke. What?? I'm DOWN 0.5??? I'm trying to think of an explanation but then it came to me. I gave blood yesterday and although it was my first time giving....They take about a pint of blood from you so I imagine that is what I can accredit my weight loss to. How much does a pint of blood weight I wonder? Hmm Just looked it up, apparently it's one pound. So they took one pound of blood from me yesterday. I'm sure it will slowly come back on but in the meantime, I'm going to get my butt in gear and wipe out this last 5 pounds.

Hope all you Friday Weighers had some success this morning! don't forget to send Randi your WI results for this week.

My weekend plans are actually pretty laid back this week. It seems like this is the first weekend in a long time where were weren't booked up for every minute of the entire weekend. Tonight we are going to the gym after work (have to make up for missing yesterday) then we are hitting up Wendy's for supper (Suggestions ladies???) and then we are going to the mall to start a little Christmas shopping and hopefully get some lights for the outside of our house. I can't figure out what to go with but hopefully I'll get inspired tonight.

Saturday we have our Goddaughter's 2nd Birthday party. It's at 3:00 and I heard that pizza is on the menu and I offered to bring Caesar Salad. My plan for Saturday is to eat a nice filling lunch around 1:00 and hopefully just have a little Caesar salad at the party (of cours eI'm bringing light caesar dressing to go tiwht it!). I should have lots of flex points left over so I might take Randi's advice and have a half a piece of cake or I might just nibble off Scott's plate. Birthday cake is a hard one. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not even worth the points so I'll have to wait and see. If I see it getting rave reviews than I may indugle in a half a piece, I'll let Scott be my test monkey on that one. He could probably eat half the cake and still end up losing a pound...men!

Saturday after the party, Scott and I are going skating in the evening and then out for a hot chocolate and then heading home with a movie in hand. Kind of like a little date night. I love those nights. It's supposed to be miserable here too since we are getting the tail end of Hurricane Noel (which will be a tropical storm when it hits us) so it will be nice to get cozied up on the couch with a good movie.

Sunday we are going to a flea market in the afternoon and after that we are both free game so we'll probably get some things done around the house and I'd like to try out a new recipe for supper so if you've tried anything spectacular lately, let me know!

Have a great weekend ladies! (Why do I always feel like Bob Barker when I call you ladies??)

  1. I know eh! My WI isn't until Monday, but this morning it said I was down about 0.5. It kind of scarred me a little because I am trying to muster up the courage to face the music and the scale is playing games with me! lol I think it's that "delay" that I mentioned a little while back. Almost like it takes a week or two for results to show their face, which isn't fair because your mind is up to date!

I love Wendy's chili and I bet if you got a chili and a baked potatoe, you could even pour the chili on top of the potato and it would be awesome and not too high in points! Yum. Lots of protein from the chili and good carb from the potatoe!

Have the cake and plan for it if you want it. It's a new week :-)

  2. YAY for a los...I think you start replinishing that blood right away so I don't think it's all from that.

    Have a great weekend.

  3. That's awesome! I agree with the school of thought that sometime our body needs a shock, to get your metabolism back in gear... so way to go!! And, if you had been too scared to WI you wouldn't have known how awesome you did!

  4. Hi Carolyn! Congrats on the .5 loss. Take it anyway you can get it ;) I will be weighing a little while and sending my results to Randi. I didn't get as much exercise in as normal since my arm is preventing me from lifting. It is starting to feel better so hopefully I can resume a normal schedule next week some time. I do plan to hit the gym today and get a cardio workout in, though. Good luck at the birthday party tomorrow. I know you'll do great!!

  5. Congrats on your loss! Maybe its not the blood loss, but perhaps a high calorie day or two shocked your bod... stranger things have happened!

Enjoy your weekend, sounds like a great plan!

  6. Hi Carolyn, Congrats on the loss, even if it is the donation. And congrats on donating - I need to go donate again myself. Drinking all this water really helps with donation time.

Wendy's grilled chicken salad isn't too bad, but I prefer McD's. They have the nutritional information posted or check it out on-line before you go.

  7. woohoo a loss! i think your blood comes replenishes itself within a couple of hours (or less) so i'd chalk it up to hard work - and luck haha!

  9. RYC: Thank you so much for sharing that with me about your experience with the marriage prep stuff! THat is sooo encouraging and the truth is I was hoping that the course would be more helpful than I anticipate. I'm sort of playing a mind game with myself and FH, by expecting it to be a waste of time and then that's what you expect, and then you're pleasantly surprised! That's the angle I'm working on with him! lol

  10. LOL! I think the Red Cross should start a new marketing campaign. Give blood, lose a half a pound!

  11. I'm with Katieo, Red Cross could be the new quick fix! And I guess those of you who need to see a loss or can't go over a certain number or you lose some kind of status (how the hell does WW work?) then keep this in mind! hehe.
What a nice weekend you have planned! that sounds awesome. Good plan with the salad.
When you say ladies for some reason it reminds me of Oprah, though she never says that. Just something about it. (and the good oprah, like 5 years ago before she got all cocky and political and save the children.)

  12. i think i heard that 1 pint of blood equals 1 pound... but either way - CONGRATS on the loss this week... :o)

  13. Super congrats on the 1st time blood donation! Don't be surprised if your workout today is harder than usual. Though your blood volume (the fluids) replenishes right away, the red blood cells take more time. I don't get back up to full speed until a couple of days after. But take those losses any way you can get them!

I feel the same as you about cake, it's either a slice of heaven, or not worth the space on the plate. It's all about the butter cream frosting for me.

  14. come on down....the pounds ain't right! haha

hey girl! yea, it was nice to see 133 but i doubt that will be sticking around once i've rehydrated ;)

i like cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, syrah, and i really like red zinfindel. yummy! i like ravenswood zinfindel a lot, it ranges from 10-20 bucks for a bottle but its delicious :) my stepmom is a lobbyist for our local wineries so we go to the wine festival every year. its fun to try the different flavors. i like the desert wines & of course love champagne (usually in a mimosa though). what kind do you like? if i see it in the store i will give it a try! :)

have a great weekend! congrats on the loss, even if it were the blood. it would still be a maintain!! look at us, try to justify our loses. lets just celebrate the lower #s!! haha
