Where does the time go?
I weighed in on Friday and I was only 2 lbs away from being back to my pre-Christmas weight. I know, you're probably thinking..."You're STILL carrying around Christmas weight?!?!" But I am. It's true. Last year it was so much easier to take it off but for some reason it seems to be sticking around this year. I'm not too worried about it though. I know it's slowly coming off. Hopefully I've learned my lesson and next year I won't be so food crazed. I think my body likes this weight zone because it doesn't seem very anxious to move around any. I'm still toying with the idea of doing SFL for a few weeks to shed off a few pounds and get down to the lowest I've ever been, just to see if it's possible. I think my biggest hesitation is that I'm actually happy where I am now and I don't want to go through all that restriction. I really do wish I could lose another 10 lbs and I really really want to. But giving up those flex points is going to be a tough one. I'll have to pick a 2 week period that I have NO plans with friends, no dates, no outings basically. This plan (at least the first 2 clensing weeks) does not allow for much flexibility. I'm actually making it sound a lot worse that it really is. I know if I do it and stick with it, than the weight will fly off pretty quick. Choices, choices. I guess I'm just getting anxious about these last few pounds, I have been playing around with them since May of last year! That seems like forever! Actually in May of last year I was actually smaller than I am now (due to the SFL plan). Hmmm what do you ladies think?
My weekend was good. Dinner and a movie date with another couple on Friday. Went to Swiss Chalet. Ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich (9pts) and a baked potato (5 pts w/sour cream) with diet pepsi. I also had 1 perogie and half of a spring roll (5 pts) High point supper but that's why I saved up my flex points!
Saturday we had my 2 year old neiece for the afternoon. SO much fun! We took her shopping and to the pet store. Saturday night was homemade pizza night (which I royally screwed up!) and stayed in with a movie. I made the dough but doubled it up for a super thick crust and it turned out all doughy. Not good. Next time we'll stick with the single!
Went to a Superbowl party on Sunday night and had 5 points left. I had one very small piece of spinach and tomato thin crust pizza and a 1/2 of a cookie. There was food everwhere!!! It would have been so easy to just pig out! I did pretty good though, drank about 6 glasses of water and chewed about 3 pieces of gum to keep the food out of my mouth! haha.
Today is Yoga at lunch and Cardio after work. I didn't make it to the gym yesterday so I'm palying catch up. I did squeeze in 40 mins of Tae Bo on Sunday though so I figure I'm doing ok. Tomorrow I'm hitting the gym at lunch for 40 mins cardio since we are heading to the in laws for a turkey dinner tomorrow night. Mmm Turkey. My plan is to fill up on veggies. Tomorrow night Scott and I are going to play Volley ball. Nothing competitive, just a recreational team. Should be fun and it's more active than sitting at home on the couch!
How is everyone doing this week?

Hi Carolyn! Good job at not pigging out at the Super bowl party!! It is so hard to resist eating at big parties, but you did great!
ReplyDeleteHow hard is the yoga class you are taking at lunch time? I really struggled with the one yoga class that I took, maybe there are others out there that aren't as hard? I'm almost terrified of yoga! I'm a tae bo chick!
How would your husband do if you did the SFL for two weeks? Would he do it with you, or would you have to cook two meals? I think it would be ok if you want to do it for a few weeks, just remember that it isn't something that is realistic for the long term. I don't want you to end up disapointed at the end of it, or end up binging because you have been strict for too long.
I hope you have a great day!
SUCH a good job at the Super Bowl party, I took the other road and totally pigged out and am paying for it now!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being 2 lbs away from Christmas weight - I'm about 3, so we are so close! Keep it up, you are doing awesome and I'm so very proud!
ooo a recreational team! How do you find those! I want to join one!!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what your acronym means for your plan you are considering, but I am guessing it is no flex points on the weight watchers plan? I think that could work, but then may also make you crazy. Which one is more important?
Wow...good job at the Super Bowl party...and all that activity. You are doing great.
ReplyDeleteI always do a vegetable only day if I feel the need to "tighten up"...salad and WW vegetable soup and lots of liquids.
I think you did an AMAZING job at the super bowl party!!! I, too, use the gum trick...I NEED to!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally believe that your body is comfortable, I completely understand your frustrations!!! I agree with Jenn, don't deny yourself!! It might end up worse in the end!
I wondered where you went! 2 pounds away from pre-Christmas weight is still awesome! I say if you want to try your plan again, you should...
ReplyDeleteif you restrict yourself like crazy to get those last few pounds off - what would be your plan to keep them off? I think you're doing an awesome job!!
ReplyDeleteAs Fatinah said, you don't want to do anything to get those last few pounds off that you wouldn't do in order to keep them off. I know its hard struggling with the last few...hell me and my last 10lbs have become old friends. But if your doing everything right, you will lose the weight.
ReplyDeleteNice work at the superbowl party!
ReplyDeleteI am kind of in the same boat as you right now... I'd like to lose the last 10 or so pounds... but I don't know if I'm willing to make the sacrifices necessary.. AND.. I'm not TOO unhappy about my body as it is... An odd place to be!
Way to kick a$$ on the exercise front!
I was able to do great during the superbowl party I was supposed to go to... Instead, I came home from work and decided to take a nap. I must have been tired b/c I slept thru most of the game (I saw the winning t/d, and barely ate anything for dinner. Pretty bad, I know!!!
ReplyDeleteAs some one who has been trying to lose the last 15 lbs foreverrrrrrrrrr I just made myself start Dec 30th, I've been losing for 5 weeks now, and now I am about 6 lbs away from goal. I am so glad I just finally did it. I don't feel deprived, I'm enjoying life, and I am trying lots of yummy stuff that is healthy for me. What does SFL mean? I can't figure out what that means, but 10lbs is hardly anything. Okay I mean it is something, but what I mean is you are so close. You can totally do it!!! Bite the bullet! Go for it! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not wanting to restrict yourself TOO too much, but still wanting to lose that last ten. It's almost like we don't believe the 10 will come off slowly, like it's impossible at this weight to lose a pound or two a month. (that's how I feel anyway!) It's kind of that all or nothing thinking...
ReplyDeleteCarolyn - great job at Super Bowl, and even better at the gym lately. You are doing amazing - I'm really proud of you, girl! 2lbs away from your pre-Christmas weight is *this* close - you are practically there. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteSo awesome at the party! You are getting so active too girl. Isn't it amazing to see how different you are now than a couple of years ago?
ReplyDeleteI think everyone else knows this, but what is SFL?
ReplyDeleteI don't know what SFL is either. My weight is coming sooo slowly that I've given thought to dropping my points by 1/day for a few weeks to see if that helps. I average 25/day (daily + weekly) right now.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing so great. I am really proud of you Carolyn. Even though you may not be losing weight, it is really evident that you are toning. Keep up the great work with your diet and working out. You look really hot.
