I'm Back!!!

Not that I really want to be.....although I am happy to be home, I'd much rather be soaking up the sun on a white sand beach right about now.

What an AMAZING trip! Scott and I had the time of our lives. There was tons of drinking and eating and laying on the beach, dancing, relaxing, snorkeling, kayaking, boogey boarding, swimming with sharks and sting rays, shopping, more eating, more drinking and it was all soo much fun! It was soo nice to get away for a whole week with my favorite person in the world.

Scott and I flew into Halifax on Sunday morning at 5:00am into a snow storm! Seriously??!??! Scott and I in our flip flops and shorts and tank tops, walking through the slush and snow was not a pretty sight. Stupid winter, go away already.

Side Note: My damn camera broke as soon as we got back to Saint John so I can't get my pics off it. As soon as I do, I'll post a few of me in my Dominican bikinis!

So now I am home. And it's time to pay the piper. About 8 lbs worth of paying. Ugh. Would I do it all again though? Yup, in a heart beat. But I can't, I have to buckle down the hatches and get serious. Summer is on it's way and I'm ready to kick some serious butt and jump on the Summer Challenge bandwagon. I'm adding a poundage goal to my Summer Challenge. At first I was very reluctant to set a goal weight but I'm confident that I'm setting one that I know I can reach as long as I stick to the plan and be good on the weekends. There are 6 weeks left of the Summer Challenge and I think that 10 lbs is a reasonable goal. I'm assuming (and crossing my fingers) that I'll see a pretty big loss this week and maybe next week too since weight that goes on fast usually tends to come off pretty quickly. I already feel like I am "deflating" a little.

I totally rocked Monday although I was tempted to stay in "vacation mode" and eat a few measly chocolate covered almonds from the lunch room. But I didn't & I did great. Ate lots of fruit and veggies and protein and to top that off, I went to the gym and worked out for over an hour and a half! 75 mins of cardio and 25 mins of abs. Take that 8 lb vacation gain! Pack it up and get out!

Can't wait to catch up on you ladies and find out how everyone is doing with the Summer Challenge. Don't forget to e-mail me your progress so I can update everyone on how you are doing! I'll post an update on Thursday so get to me before then if you want your progress posted. Thanks ladies!

  1. Hey Girl. Sounds like you had a blast. I am so happy for you. Can't believe your camera broke, hopefully you can get it fixed. I am down 2.8 on the way to 130 and I am 2 pounds away. That is my summer challenge update. :)

  2. I am so happy you are back and that you enjoyed yourself, you deserve it. I am still with you on the summer challenge even if it has been a bit hard these past few weeks, 6 weeks until summer, yikes!Time to kick it into high gear :)

  3. You know, life is all about enjoying it, so I'm glad you had an awesome time, and are now ready to tackle the 8lbs from the trip.

Can't wait to see some pics! And great job getting back on track!

  4. Hey, I'm glad you're back and that you had a good time! Pfft, those 8 lbs can kiss themselves goodbye! You'll have them gone in no time!

My challenge update -- Week 1 was 100% perfect. Week 2 I only got 1 run because I had my wisdom teeth out and was recovering for a few days. Week 3 which is now is going good because I got back to the gym last night for my first run of the week. I guess it's only Week 2 that didn't go so well, but I'm back with the challenge now.

  5. WELCOME BACK!!! Sounds like you had a great time!!!

AND I love how you are already kicking butt!!! Those 8 lbs won't even know what HIT them!!!

Challenge update : we are 15 days into the challenge I am having my 14th workout this afternoon! I have followed the 8 healthy guidelines EVERY day (even a couple really bad ones I had, I snuck the guidelines in BARELY!)

  6. I'm so glad that you had a fantastic time!! I gained 8 lbs exactly from my week in Cuba which has now successfully melted away, yay!!! I can't wait to see your pics!

Summer Challege update for me is that I'm down to 173 - 10 more to go!

  7. Welcome back...I just had fun saying "Punta Cana" I can't even imagine how much fun it was to be there.

I've made no progress in my summer challenge to loose weight. I posted an update:

  8. Carolyn,
Sounds like you had a blast on your trip. Exactly what a vacation is supposed to be....the pounds will come off.

I was doing well for my summer challenge but then went to amsterdam for four days and ate nothing but deepfried krokettes(dutch meat potato deep fried thingy's eaten on white bread) dutch pancakes and other bad for you things!! As you can see i have yet to perfect the healthy eating whilst on vacation thing myself! but back on track now and hoping for a loss this week! Will keep you updated.

  9. Welcome back!! Sounds like you had a great time. You totally deserved to enjoy yourself on vacation! And congrats for getting back on track so soon!!

  10. Glad to see you're back!!

My summer challenge progress--did 5 workouts the first week and 4 the second week. Haven't ran 7 miles yet.

  11. SO Jealous! Your vacation sounds like it was wonderful.

Can't wait to see some pictures!

8 lbs isn't bad....you can get rid of those in no time.

  12. welcome back! i can't wait to see your pics - 75 mins of cardio is awesome - you are gonna rock those pounds right off!

  13. I'm so glad that you had a good time. Nothing like a great vacation. Don't worry about those sneaky little vacation pounds, you'll have them running the other way soon. Challenge wise (is that a word) I would like to be doing better. However, I have lost 1.5 pounds and exercised 5 times a week. I'm shooting for a great few days to get me in the zone. Wish me luck!

  14. Glad your back (only for your blog buddies sakes), we missed you but knew you were having way too much fun to miss us. And that's the way an awsome vacation like you had is supposed to be.

Challange update: I've added 10 minutes to my walking routine and startinig tomorrow will add some core. Hopefully this will strengthen the muscles (including the heart muscle) so I can make it up that dreaded driveway.
