Fit and Fat?

Maybe it's just me.....

Does anyone else feel their biggest immediately after a workout? For some reason lately, especially after intense cardio workouts, I feel my biggest. I feel all jiggly and certainly not fit. It usually wears off about and hour after my workout and then I feel fit and happy that I just kicked some butt...but aren't most people supposed to feel super fit after a rocking workout? I don't get it. Hmmm.

Last night was my Body Ball class and the instructor, who I find usually goes a little too easy on us, totally rocked it last night. The exercises were fun but definitely challenging and my legs and butt are cursing her name today, which is the way it's supposed to be!
I'm aiming for 6 workouts this week but I'll be ok if I can only punch out 5. It's going to be a busy weekend but my plan is to get in some Billy on Saturday morning first thing. I love Tae Bo. Seriously love it. I know at least Jenn knows what I am talking about. At first, I thought Billy was a little too over the top but after doing the workouts 3 days in a row for 60 mins, I honestly feel like I am seeing results. I feel lighter, my clothes are looser and my arms feel more toned. I'm going to try to get him in at least once a week but hopefully twice and I'll hit the gym on my other days.

Off topic but the weirdest thing happened to me yesterday. I picked up a box of All Bran Bites in the groceries the other night. There are supposed to be 5 pouches in a box but when I opened it up, there was 10 pouches stuffed into one box! Weird eh?

Well that's it for me today. I'm totally rocking WW and I'm loving every single minute of it. How is everyone else making out?

  1. Sounds like you've got your mojo back! Good job girl!

As I was busting my ass with my trainer last night I could hear the cardio kickboxing class going on and thought about you and Billy. I did actual kickboxing for a year, but boxercise looks about a thousand times harder because it's non-stop cardio!

  2. I totally hear you on the "fit and fat" thing. I felt sooo puffy after my workout last night! Maybe because I had guzzled a protein smoothie right afterwards, followed by some water? It's weird! But yes, definitely not the best feeling in the world. I usually workout at night, so I feel my best when I wake up in the morning. :)

  4. hmmm...I always feel really small after a workout...I shower and then look at the mirror is disbelief b/c I look the same...lol.

10 bags in one box? You hit the snack jackpot :)

I get my canned chicken breast at Costco. It's Kirkland Signiture brand in a big blue can. They come 6 cans to a package for about $9. It's yummy and good to keep around when I'm in a rush or too lazy to defrost anything.

  5. I always feel like a bottomless pit after working out rather than a blimp.
So it's more like fat about an hour after once I've eaten...

  7. I always feel bigger after a workout, probably because I drink so much water afterwards, usually the next day though, I feel great.

  8. Funny you should mention this, but I felt exactly the same way after my body pump class last night! I chalked it up to being surrounded by mirrors :)

Glad to hear you are rocking WW - it must be in the air.

  10. I always feel gross at the gym and once I have left. I look at my self all sweaty and nasty and it grosses me out. Once I shower I always feel that much better, maybe it's the sweat and dirt hahaha! Can you tell me where I can buy those all bran bites with 10 packs, hook me up ;)
I feel back in control of my eating too, I think I am out of the rut and loving WW too.
Keep up this great work and you will look mint in your bikini :)

  11. I used to work at Curves for Women and we would never weigh or measure people right after a workout because their measurements would be bigger than at the beginning of the workout. Muscles expanding due to physical exertion perhaps?

  12. Glad you are rockin WW again. I know it's hard to get back in the groove, but when you do ah it feels so good.

I actually haven't felt fat yet after a workout. I usually get a high from it, and I feel like I walk out of the gym with an extra bounce in my step from boost of self esteem.

  13. You're rocking it! Woo hoo!

As for feeling pudgy after a workout - I sometimes feel that way, but I think it's because of water retention. I definitely feel more flexible and energetic afterward - but yes, bloated too.

Good luck this weekend - I know it's a big one for you. You'll do great!

  16. I don't necessarily feel fat but I definitely don't feel pretty! My favorite part is stretching at the end and feeling my muscles. rar! I need to go running or something! lol

  17. My personal trainer told me that you actually ARE bigger after a workout, because your muscles are inflamed with blood. I "gained" 5 pounds after a recent workout. But then the muscles constrict and get rid of the excess! Or something like that :)

  18. Haha, I used to love Billy too! He's motivating, but without being a bully!

Congrats on your bonus bran-bites! ;)
