Not so Manic Monday

Today has been a great day so far but I'm still feeling the effects of the weekend. Even though I stayed within my points, I still feel like I ate more than I should have. But I guess that's the beauty of WW. FLEX POINTS! It was Scott's birthday so I probably ate more than I would usually. Through the week I use my posting on here to keep track of my points but on the weekend I usually don't post so I need to get back into the habit of writing down my points on the weekends. It will keep me from going over! And after my GAIN last week,
I needs to be totally accountable and get my head on straight.

Scott and I had a great weekend and I even managed to get in a few workouts! Yesterday was a pretty lazy day, laundry, cleaning and all that jazz. Scott FINALLY convinced me to watch Rocky (the first one but I have a feeling there are more coming). I was actually surprised that it wasn't that bad but I always thought Rocky was smarter. For most of the movie I just kept thinking...why is Rocky so dumb? He's supposed to be a role model and he acts like a redneck hick. But all in all I have to admit that it was pretty good. It made me want to get into really good shape actually. He must have trained like mad for that one!

Alright I've rambled on enough about Rocky. Not much new in my world right now...still looking for a house to buy, still hoping to see a loss this week, the usual. How is everyone else doing this week?
Oh and I'm looking for a new recipe to try on Sunday...anyone have any ideas???? I want to try something new, low in points but new. Recipes anyone?

  1. Congrats on your eating I think you will definitely see a loss Friday! Weekends are always so tough and birthdays seem to be the toughest even if its not your own..haha!

Sorry to hear about the gain on Friday but dont fret you will get it off in no time!

  2. I have a great recipe for salad.. I had it in my cooking class today. I will mail it down to you... But here it is!! It was very delicious!

    Strawberry & Spinach Salad
    6 C spinach
1/2 cup red onion finely chopped
    1 C strawberries sliced
    1/2 C slivered almonds.

    Poppy Seed Dressing
    1/4 C vegetable oil
    1/4 C apple cider vinegar
    3 tbsps Sugar or Splenda
    1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
    1 Tbsp poppy seeds

It was very good. I have other info that is great.. 2 pages all about Olive Oil...

  3. Mmmmm that salad sounds yum-o!

The first Rocky is pretty good, but don't let him make you watch number 4 or is it 5? The one after the russian. The new one Rocky Balboa was good too. :D

  4. I got Carolyn to watch Rocky II last night. She's starting to like Rocky. Tonight we move on to number III.

  5. Weekends can be like that. You always are so strict during the week that I think you'll see a good loss this week, too!

My pork loin chops and warm asian slaw from last week is a favorite at my house. I just marinate the pork in lime juice, tamiari and grated ginger with lots of black pepper. The slaw is a head of napa cabbage, some grated carrots, some pea pods and sliced green onions with pickled ginger and a little rice wine vinegar. Let me know if you want more specifics.

  6. Glad to see you watched Rocky, its one of my favs and they just keep getting better...really a great way to motivate you! I love your menu and I 'll try to get you a recipe tonight when I get to my home computer, I like that you also marked your flex points at the bottom of your menu, great way to keep track :)

  7. Hey Carolyn! Can't believe I hadn't stumbled here yet - your blog is great. Hope it's okay I added to to my frequent reads list on my blog. :)

Yeah, one more year of school then undergrad is done! But then it's off to grad school, so eek! - I'm a Political Science major at Queen's (in Kingston, ON) ...
